petit larceny questions

last month i was brought into suffolk police station on petit larceny charges for returning merchandise with receipts they said were not their merchandise or returning merchandise twice with same receipt (which I did if line was not crossed out by cashier when returned originally and i found the item in the store again. yesterday my husband was questioned by police in my home (he did not know about this but did returns for me from tiime to time. he has to report on monday to police headquesters for processing. can they keep coming to my home to do this with other receipts or are we not done until my araignment. also., how do i check out different lawyers to find their rates of success or if they do indeed do this type of work. i can get reduced rate for legal help thru our union but arent sure the one i can use is any good. also, he is hard to get in touch with. is it usually so hard to get in touch with a lawyer.how many hours does this araignment process usually take since they charge by hour. thank you

generally, they can bring several independent charges of petit larceny or can add the diffrent occassions to one single larger act if they can show that there was a pattern as far as the stores, or some other factor.

Generally, you can find attorneys that will quoute you a single price for this type of case, and this would cover you from arraignment through the end of the case.
