Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York

i have a petty larcerny A misdemeanor charge in the town of wallkill new york, i am currently out on $3500 bail. i was told by legal aid that they cannot represent me beacause i make to much money, i am working in a factory for $8.00 an hour after paying all my bills i barely have any money for the week.so i cannot afford to hire an attorney,i try to explain this to the judge,but he doesn't seem to care and told me i need to get an attorney, its there anyone else besides legal aid who you know would represent me free of charge ? i have a court date for april 5th 2011 in the town of wallkill ny in front of judge patrick owens.thank you in advance for your time and help.

If the bail is in cash, it can be assigned to an attorney to pay your legal fees.
