Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
Petty theft
I went to court and pled guilty to petty theft of $57.00 at Old Navy. I know this is on my background. My question is, How can it be erased from my background? I have never done anything like that before and I work in retail. It will be imposible for me to find a job with this on my background.

Re: Petty theft
Generally, once a conviction in NY is entered and the time to appeal has lapsed, there is very little, if anything, that can be done unless certain facts exists which a defense attorney should inquire about during a consultation.
There are one or two possibilities but whether or not they are viable depend on facts you didn't include in your post. Contact me for a free consultation to discuss it further.
