Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
Police Questioning
The police came to my house yesterday and asked me to come to their office to talk to them.
I was previously charged by the same cop and placed on probation for 10 years.
They said they want to talk to me about some allegations before.
I have to go there on Friday.
I don't want to talk to them without legal assistance present because I don't trust them and I don't know what they are talking about. they lied before. police lie all the time and they get away with it.
My question is: Do I have the right to request a Lawyer to be present during questioning? and Can I refuse to speak to them without a Lawyer present?
