Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York

Police statements

I have been asked to come to the NY state police barracks in Elbridge, NY to make a statement concerning an incident that occurred last Friday night. I was in a slight altercation with a few people, later one of them stepped on a broken bottle and injured themselves, then the next day they made a statement to police that I caused the injury. Should I go make a statement or retain legal service first.

Re: Police statements

Never go to a law enforcement interrogation without an attorney present. The statements you make without counsel will come back to haunt you.
