Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York

possesion of a gun

my husband is currently in jail for possesion of a gun and he has 2 counts of possesion of a weapon and resisting arrest. He is currently on parole but went to a parole hearing which he has 3 more years to give them but they only said that he has to give them a year. I wonder what are the outcomes of his case as for as estimating how much time he has to do. They keep adjourning his case and i'm also wondering why?He has a felony C. could you please explain to me about the outcome of his case as i explain above.

Re: possesion of a gun

There is no SET outcome of the case, the law does not work that way. The fact that he is on probation is definately a problem and makes the case more serious... the adjournments may be for the sake of letting probation run as far as possible so they may be less likely to violate him, or that the punishment for the violation may be minimalized.

Overall, possession cases are being treated VERY seriously nowadays. My office handles many of these cases regularly.
