Possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree

I was arrested for possesing 4 vicodin pills which i was taking for a toothache. I did buy them illegally and had no prescription but am wondering if is there any way to get the charges dropped or even down to fines? This is my first offense and am very well behaved, will the judge even take that into consideration?
