Re: Probation travel limits

First, it depends on whether you are on probation from a State or Federal Court. Second, the "terms and conditions" of probation should have been done in writing and given to the probationer - that will normally state that if you are leaving the jurisdiction of the Court or probation office that you must have PRIOR approval to do so.

Beware that leaving the jurisdiction without approval or contrary to the terms and conditions will generally result in a violation. When in doubt, please check with the probation officer first. Generally, if you do that, show them where you are going to be, for how long, how they can reach you and your return date, that should suffice.

Good luck and hope this helps.
