Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York

Probation violation

My boyfriend got arrest and sent for the weekend to jail for what we think is a violation of probation. From what I know this would be his second time. I know he was on probation for something that happend when he was 16 and was supposed to be on it for 4 years, 2 in good behavior. I know he was almost done with his 2 in good behavior (what they said) and thought he was complete? Could he spend time in jail and is there any other options like house arrest or anything like that?

Re: Probation violation

He should have had a lawyer and you should consult with him. However it sounds weird. Probation does not have time off for good behavior the way jails do. A person can be released from probation early but that is not a right.

Further usually probation is for 3 or 5 years not 4.
