Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York

Someone using your name and getting pulled over

Hello,

My question is this: Is it a felony or a misdemeanor when someone uses another person's name and gets a traffic ticket. Also what kind of sentence could they be looking at if they have a clean record. Thank you.

The possible sentence will depend on what the charge is. For example, False Personation is a class B misdemeanor so the possible sentence is up to 90 days in jail. There may be some other misdemeanors that are applicable as well that can carry a sentence of up to one year in jail. Please feel free to contact my office if you would like to discuss this matter in more detail.
