I echo the other replies that you can be prosecuted for harassment for the phone calls. I have questions about your case though...

1) Did you leave any messages on voice mail or answering machines?

2) How many calls did you make?

3) When were the calls made, about what, and to whom?

Feel free to contact me and provide me the following information so I can better assess your case. You can reach me anytime at 646-209-8213. Good luck.

The charge is called Aggravated Harassment and it comes under Penal Law section 240.30. It is a Class A Misdemeanor. You should have a lawyer with you when turn yourself in to either the police or to the court. Please feel free to call me if you want to discuss your case. 212-622-7180.

Yes. You can be prosecuted for "harassment" under Penal Law 240.30 if you have made threats or made repeated, unwanted contacts over the telephone.

In asking you to turn yourself in, you have been issued a "Desk Appearence Ticket" for an official 'arraignment'. This is all a common and legal practice in criminal law in NYC.

You are welcome to a consultation at no fee at my offices at 42 West 44th St. Please call for an appointment first (646) 591-5786.
