Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
My question is, what can i do to drop a domestic violence charge ? I spoke with the Da and he said he will not dissmiss the case. My bf has an open case of Dv aready and i just recently called the cops on him so he has two cases now. Right now he is in rikers island till his next court day which is in two days will they relase him ? On the court day i should have a lawyer. I will tell my lawyer i want to drop the charges. Will he be released? Is there another way to dissmiss the case ?

No, it is up to the DA. You can state that you will not be a witness, however they might subpoena you anyway.
