Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
PLEASE READ
if you were at a house in which you didnt reside and a gun was found at that residence that was not found on you but in another area of the house with your dna and 2 others can u be charged with possession of that firearm? does touching an item mean that u had possession of that item?

It might be enough to get you arrested but might not be enough to get you convicted. If you touched it and realized it was a weapon and immediately dropped it you would not be guilty of possession. There are many other possible defenses.
