reading you your rights
I got arrested a few months ago.i gave one statement witch was a lie and the cop said that they had a video of me going into a basement. so they asked if i wanted to chang my statement so i said ok that is not a real statement. so i started to tell the real one and he threw out a piece of paper i thought he was throwing out the other statement but he was not.so now there are two statement.what do i do. also does a cop have to read you your rights or can he just put it on paper.

I practice in Connecticut. I cannot tell if you were arrested in Conn. or NY. Either way, I believe that you must hire an attorney to insure your rights are protected. If you got arrested in CT, and you want to retain me, give me a call at:

Do you have an attorney? You will have the opportunity to attack the confession at a Huntley hearing.

A signed waiver of rights ,prperly executed,is valid in Ct.Your problem may be your first,false statement.This may be used against you . Dennis P. McDonough
