Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
I was recently given a summons on new years for walking with a glass of champagne in New York City on new years. I am applying to college and this is the first time I even got in trouble with the cops. What should I expect? Im a bit scared this small incident could mess up my future.

It should be fine they will usually adjourn your case in contemplation of dismissal. In essence, if you stay out of trouble for a period of time the case will be dismissed and sealed.
