Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
Relief of Disability
I had been convicted of felony sale of a controlled substance years ago to a nitwit I thought I was helping out, but who turned out to be a junkie. I used to enjoy hunting but now cannot possess a firearm. Every year I call about relief of disability to the ATF only to find that no funds have been approved by congress. Is there any way to have these rights restored? Can I legally possess a compound bow for hunting?

Re: Relief of Disability
Generally, Relief From Civil Disabilities is something that you seek from the Court. You make a motion and meet with the Probation Department, which prepares a report for the judge.
