Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York

I just remembered I have a public urination ticket in NYC that I never paid and no longer have a copy of. How do I track it down?

The ticket was likely returnable at the Midtown Community Court on West 54th Street if you got the ticket in midtown or at 346 Broadway. The ticket is a misdemeanor and it was either dismissed (possible) or a bench warrant was issued (more likely). I am a former federal and State prosecutor and now handle criminal defense. I have handled many of these summons for lawguru users.

Your best way of finding out is to go to the clerks office at the criminal court house at 100 Centre Street in Manhattan. If they do not have a record go to the clerks office at 346 Broadway, first floor, Manhattan. These two locations are only about two to three blocks apart so it is not a long distance. I would not wait to do this since a bench warrant can have serious consequences if you have any contact with the police in the future. You will be arrested and detained and that can happen in front of your family or at a very inappropriate time.

Robert Evans Robert S. Evans esq.

Go to the clerk's office in the county where the summons was issued. In Manhattan it would likely be @ 346 Broadway , get the warrant vacated by having the case pulled and sent into a courtroom. If you need help in navigating the process, you can call my office @ 7188340087 for a free phone consultation.
