Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York

i need help!

i would like to be a RN in NY. i was convicted of a violation 509.1. two judges on seperate occasions told me its a non criminal violation not a misdamenor or felony. will i be disqualified from being a nurse

That is correct, that is a violation... Which is on par with a speeding or parking ticket... You should not be disqualified from anything at all because of that.

What I would suggest however, being that you will have to appear before boards just as all other professionals, that you have what is called a certificate of disposition on your case. You should go to the court where your case was heard, go to the clerks office and request a letter (or certificate) of disposition... The letter will state in it the specifics of how the case was ended and if there are any questions as far as this case, the letter will serve as proof to answer those questions. The fee for such a letter is $10.00...
