robbery
i was on my steps and police in had someone in the backseat that said that i robbed him at 2am and i was arrest i went throuth the system and had an arraingment was released on r&r never been arrested never had a problem with the law work hard can i be jailed on this matter

Your case sounds very interesting....depending on the facts and the nature of the identification, you might have a very good case. The fact that the judge released you at arraignment without any bail is a good sign.
There are several robbery statutes and three degrees of robbery in New York State. Some of the charges are very serious and carry mandatory jail time. Others are less serious and provide for probation.

The simple answer is yes. The amount of time you can receive will vary depending on the charge. However, a charge of robbery is very serious and can result in significant prison time even for a first arrest.
