Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York

Saturday night I got arrested for disorderly conduct 240.20 sub-devision 7. I am a twenty year old female college student, am an honors student, do community service for a regular basis and have never been in trouble before. I don't have money to pay a fine, but I don't want to go through a trial because it is a very embarrassing incident and I want it to end ASAP. What is my best course of action?

Additional information

Also, I'm going to be a high school teacher, so I can't have a record. I know it's a violation but I've been told the charge will still show up in a background check.

Unfortunately, these days everything shows up on a background check. The bast thing you can do for yourself is to fight the case unless they dismiss or offer an Adjournment in Contemplation of Dismissal.

You should not expect jail time, but it would be highly recommended to have an experienced lawyer with you defending you and preserving your rights in court. It would also greatly increase the chance of lowering the charges or possible dismissal. We have substantial experience handling these types of cases and reasonable fees, however, we would need some more information before making a complete and proper determination.
