Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
Sealed cases
My Son got arrested for skateboarding on prvt property when he was 15. He had to report to a gentelman who told him he has to do so many hrs of community service. He did and we were told his case would be sealed. What exacally does that mean? My Son who is a strait ''A'' student has been accepted in a pilot program at college and has to have a background check done Please tell me what we can expect ?

If the record was sealed your son need not worry about further consequences. I wish him good luck with his studies.For the record I had a similar situation and have been a successful attorney for 30+years.
