The age in New York varies depending on what the charge is. A basic starting point would be if an adult is 21 years old or older they can not engage in sexual acts with someone under the age of 17. However, if the minor is even younger there may be additional penalties. Furthermore, if one person is 18 or over but under 21 then there are different age limits.
