Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York

Shoplifting in NYC

I was caught shoplifting at H&M for $370 worth of merchandises. I am 17 years old and this is my first arrest. I was given a desk appearance ticket and right now i'm devastated... Any legal advise would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

As the other attorneys here mention, the best chance you have of having the charges significantly reduced or possibly dismissed would be to have an experienced attorney representing you in court. We have substantial experience handling these types of cases, however, we would need some more information before making a complete and proper determination. You are welcome to contact us for a free consultation.

A competent criminal defense attorney should be able to help "plea bargain" this type of offense so that you will neither serve jail time nor have a lifelong criminal record. I would be happy to discuss this further with you and your parents or guardians. Please contact my office @ 7188340087.

Re: Shoplifting in NYC

Generally it is always best to have your own private attorney... However, dependant on your prior record, if you have none, the likelihood is that you will be given a reasonable enough plea offer regardless of if a tree is standing beside you...

If however you feel the need to actually hire an attorney you may feel free to contact us at 212.709.8303

Do not worry, the one thing however you should focus on is ensuring you don't come out of this with a criminal record, so any plea to a violation or an acd should be fine depending on your other life circumstances, such as if you're an illegal immigrant or on probation...

Much luck!
