Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York

shoplifting

After purchasing some things and walking toward the door, the security alarm sounded. There were items in a mesh bag in a baby stroller by the handles.. the value was $45-65. he offered to pay...it was simply an oversight. The store refused to allow him to do that and called the police. He never went past the security alarm, never went to the door, and never went outside. What should he expect at the arraignment?

We have substantial experience handling these types of cases, however, we would need some more information before making a complete and proper determination.
