Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
shoplifting in urbanoutfitters
I arrested for shoplifting in urbanoutfitters yesterday. they call the police so I went to police office yesterday evening.
It was first time me to arrest. so police said it was not a big deal.
because I was too nervous not to stand well.
I worried about going back to my county. because I'm korean. and I just traveled new york and canada.
I have to go back to canada for going back to korea. my flight shedual is 4th feb 2008.
police told me I can go to court on this monday because of my situation. And they say I might pay small fine and that's it.
but I worried about other thing.
Emploee in urban outfitters gave me a paper after sign in a letter which I can't go to there for 3 years. and there is something writing about a letter in the future.
It means I'll receive a letter in the future? And Do I have to pay for not only climinal panalty but also another thing? I shoplifted about $100. I didn't mean it. it was my fault. I don't know why i did that.
I might have lost my mind to be able to control my self at that time.
plese help me. what will happen from now on,,
I can't stay longer and I don't have enough money.
