Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York

Is this spam? Don't need a lawsuit

Hello Gurus,

I told a friend of mine about your site a long time ago. Ever since then he has been using Guru for tips and trying to get services from lawyers. Recently he started a corporation that offers services some lawyers on this site would need. So I believe last night his company by hand wrote down email addresses of a few dozen lawyers and sent them each an email just saying they apologize if this is considered spam because it is being sent out to multiple addresses. Once they realized they couldn't possibly type out 1 at a time, they just emailed all of the addresses at once. Now I know a spammer got 9 years but he has spammed for years and years and cheated people out of money and he hid who he was. They acknowledged who they were and it was not a spam and scam type of thing where they trick you. It was a straight up forward email saying just incase you want to get that service done we can do it cheaper because we initiated this contact. One lawyer answered back being very rude, but in NY there are no spam laws I believe and this was a 1 time thing. No mailing list or nothing of the sort just hand written and sent to. Should they worry?
