Location of the infraction can in some cases make the ticket defective, that being said, if you want to dispute the ticket you will have to put it down for trial and at the trial the officer can amend the ticket on the record to the correct location. The only thing that truly can make a ticket defective is if they fail to identify the individual driving and even that these days is questionable. If the courts in your area will entertain a plea bargain you should consider this avenue before taking the action of taking this to trial. If they don't plea bargain, you should get an attorney who knows how to try a traffic case.
