Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York

I know in many states you can legally get an ccw(conceal carry license) I live in NYC and I'm wondering if I can legally have the right to get an conceal carry license for a pistol license, and my other two questions is being I got caught with employee theft and signed the paper sayin I'm guilty how long would that last on my retail record but no cops was ever called?? Because on the application for a gun license it asked if you have ever been fired and I'm afraid to say yes and they ask my why or when they do a criminal background to run my ss# an it pops up could they legally deny my application because that problem?? I just don't want to pay 500$ for it if I'm going to be denied because of my retail theft record??

As an aside, it is extremely dificult to get a CCW in NYC, much less a firearms permit. It is also a serious offense to lie on an application. I have not seen the firearms app here in NYC, but if there is a section for employment history you can count that they will follow up and contact any previous employers. When in doubt, err on the side of disclosure. Denial of the permit is less serious than gettign caught lying on the application. NYC takes their gun control measures very seriously. Only 3% of NYC residents have handgun permits.
