Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York

Statuatory rape?

I found my daughters' blog on ''my space.com'' that my 17 year old was forced into having sex with a 23 yr old male. She has since been diagnosed with an STD/HIV. She will not tell us anything about the night in question and I cannot even get the doctors records. Can this blog (it names names, times, places) be brought to police or an atty? How can I get the doctor's to talk to me about her diagnosis?

Thanks

Re: Statuatory rape?

You must be very upset as a parent, but legally there is nothing you can do unless your daughter cooperates. The blog is not proof of anything. Her medical records are private.

You should print out all the information contained on the web-site regarding the relationship your daughter has with this man. I would call your local police department to make an appointment to speak to a detective in their sex crimes department. Bring in all the information you have. You may also want to speak to the US Attorneys Office if you do not get the response you are looking for.

Good luck to you.
