Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
I am subpoenaed to go to court over a domestic violence report on my ex in NY State. ASSAULT-3rd A Misdemeanor. However he has a current record in which he was obligated to complete a program for 140.25(BURGLARY-2ND) severity F, in which his mother placed on him. If I testify and press charges he will go to jail for a long time. I just want him to finish his current record and not mine. How can I drop these charges without appearing "uncooperative"? It really wasn't that serious, but the police threatened me if I didn't press and allow an arrest.

If the police threaten you, you need lawyer to protect you. A good lawyer can help you drop charges and not get into trouble.
You can write a ketter stating you don't wish to cooperate with the prosecution and have it notarized and submit it to his attorney and the DA
