You may have a claim under State and City Laws if you disclosed your criminal conviction to your employer -if asked- during the application process. If you subsequently get a criminal conviction after you are hired and there is no rational relationship with your conviction and your employment you may, perhaps, have a claim for unlawful termination of employment under State and City laws (e.g. an elementary school teacher is convicted for assault would likely loose his or her employment).
