Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York

Suing a Public Official

The Public Official is the local Fire Chief. For personal reasons, he dislikes me, so, on three occasions, at a fire in my building and at the scene of two different car accidents, he literally pushed me out of his way. I'm a doctor, so I always render help to people in need. He is a hit-and-run coward, so I barely got his name through the others. I am in Suffolk County, Long Island. Finally, I received a phone call from an anonymous caller warning me never to go near the Fire Chief. When I asked who he is, he quickly hung up on me. That was a threatening phone call and from one of his friends whom I think I can identify.

Can I initiate criminal and or civil charges against him? I want both.

Re: Suing a Public Official

I would not recommend suing under such circumstances, since you don't have enough evidence, it is your word against his. If you want to discuss this matter, feel free to e-mail me.
