Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
ten year time frame
A friend of mine was convicted of a felony back in 1993. Jan. He is now facing 2 more felony charges and they want to try him as a second time felon. What exactully is the time frame involved in the 10 year. Is it the date of offense or the time they got out that the ten year starts?

Re: ten year time frame
Its 10 years from the date of sentence. However, time spent in jail for any case stops the clock for the time while in jail.
