Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York

Theft ???

My landlord came to ''supervise'' repairs being done on my apt. When I was in the other room he was photographing the work, apt, etc. When I caught him I grabbed the camera from him and deleted the picture files. 3 plainclothes policemen came to my apt. apt 2 hours later and said I committed theft ??? Did the landlord break any laws photographing my apt without my consent? Invasion of Privacy? Anything else???

Re: Theft ???

Arguably the landlord has the right to take photographs of repairs done on his premises, for future usei n reference to the conidtion of the apartment. However, you have some very good defenses.

You should consult a good criminal defense attorney. Please feel free to visit our website at www.cgonzalezlawfirm.com or email us at the address provided below or call us directly at 2127098303
