Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
Theft
Situation: Worked for a real estate company and a perspective tenant comes in with blank money orders which should be used for their apt. however since they were blank the secretary writes them out to herself and deposits them into her bank account. These were total blank money orders. Totalling to about $1,000.00 what couldbe the worse case. keep in mind this person already has a criminal record.

The theft of $1000 is a Class "A" Misdemeanor and carries up to a year in local jail.
