Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York

Ticket Speculation-Scalping

I was recently given a summons for a desk appearance on a charge of ''ticket speculation''. Essentially, 2 undercover officers caught me trying to sell a baseball game ticket for the face price. They told me I could have been arrested, but they did not arrest me. They only gave me a summons. I have no record, should I be concerned about this?

From what you wrote I can't tell whether you received a summons or an appearance ticket. In either event a good criminal defense attorney could negotiate a disposition which will not result in your getting a serious criminal record. Please call my office for a free phone consultation @ 7188340087. With more info I can offer more advice.

It's probably not going to be on your record, but sometimes it pays to make sure by hiring legal counsel.

If you need representation or just want a quote for a single appearance, you may contact my office via email.

Good luck, and next time just use Craigslist or give the ticket away -- it's good karma!
