Around how much jail time can a person with no criminal history get for having in their possesion a pistol with 20 hollow tips?

What you have described is a D violent felony, which carries a possible sentence of 2-7 years, with no prior criminal history. If the gun was used to threaten someone the sentence could be 3 1/2 to 15 years, with no prior criminal history (the numbers increase depending on criminal history). The jursidiction where the arrest occurred is a major factor in plea negotiations. Other questions need to be answered for a more accurate analysis, for example, was the gun loaded?
