Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
time limitations
If you commit a crime and you post bail, is there a certain amount of time that is legally required that you must be sentenced within or is there a maximum amount of times that your trial can be postponed since everyone is entitled to speedy trial?

Re: time limitations
In New Jersey one must request a speedy trial in order to later request that charges be dismissed due to the lack of a speedy trial. I could better answer this question if I knew more facts. You might call me to discuss the matter and/or to schedule an office consultation.
