Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York

traffic accident

my son rear-ended a car in suffolk county new york while driving my car. no damage to either car, no injuries. young girl and he agreed not to call cops because nothing was wrong. next day, cops called and said that her father wanted an amended accident report and gave my son a ticket for fleeing the scene. cop agreed with my son that she's looking to get insurance money so he took pictures of my car to show no damage. when he goes to court does he just plead guilty and pay a fine? that's what cop told him. both parties have same insurance. they are claiming alot of damage when there was none at all.

Re: traffic accident

YOu should never plead guilty to any matter in court unless you have a lawyer properly advise you.

If your son stopped, talked to the other driver, and they agreed that since there was no damage done to the car, that the matter need not be reported to the police, then that is your defense.

You don't want your insurance to go up, nor do you want your son to have a vehicle and traffic record for this if what he did is correct.

Thef ather of the young girl was not there and did not know what happened.

Re: traffic accident

Plead Guilty??? Absolutely not!!

She and her money hungry father are involved in insurance fraud. Your son did not leave the scene of the incident, in fact they agreed there was no damage and he left legally.

Additionally, she had enough information to allow the police to find him.

Get a criminal defense lawyer right away and let him help you to set this right.

If you wish to speak to me about this, please contact me through the links below. I would be interested in speaking to your son.

Either way,

Good luck.
