Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
Underage DAT, Must he escorted?
My brother is 16 and was given a desk appearance ticket for a charge of 221.10. My question is, must he go to court with his parents, or can he go alone? His parents were not notified and I was unable to find any info on this on the internet.

He "can" go alone, but it's not a good idea. It's more important that he go with a lawyer than with his parents. 221.10 is criminal possession of marijuana, a misdemeanor. It's a crime. If he pleads guilty to any drug offense, he may become ineligible for financial aid.
