Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
I understand the age of consent of NY is 17 years old but i was wondering if there was anything else to it such as special conditions for people younger than 17.

Its true that in NY, 17 is the age of consent. However there exists what I would call the "shotgun wedding exception." A minor who legally marries with the permission of her or his parents at age 16, has, of course, the right to give consent for sexual conduct with her or his legally married spouse, after the marriage occurs. For more information on this marriage exception for minors, please consult with the Marriage License Bureau in New York.
