Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
vacating a warrant
I have a vop warrant. I was told that I can go to court to vacate this myself before being picked up. I have been to court twice to do this. the first time they couldn't find my file . The second time their was a problem because I didn't have an attorney with me so, they had to send the file to another judge. I wasted 2 days of work to do this. what else can be done to get this over with?

Hire a lawyer, or surrender to the police. Hiring an lawyer is a better idea.

Good luck.
Re: vacating a warrant
What you can do is hire an attorney. He/she will walk you through the procedure, address any issues relevant to the warrant and give you the best chance of a favorable disposition.
It may seem self serving to have attorneys tell you to "hire a lawyer" but when you ask for medical advice wouldn't a doctor tell you to "check with your physician." Get professional help . . . call a lawyer.
