Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
Is verbal threat allowed under NYS Law? What are the elements needed to constitute verbal threat and what are the defenses available under NYS Law.? Thank you in advance

It depends on the threat. If you have a legitimate claim and threaten to sue, it is not a crime. If you don't have a legitimate claim and demand money it could be a crime. Any immediate threat of bodily harm would be a crime, for any reason.
