Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
violation of probation and statue of limitation
How far back can the law go to violate someone on probation? If there was time served for the a crime commited while on probation can a violation of probation be brought up a year later? Also if a non viloent felony is commited and a relief of civil disabilities is granted and a second non violent felony is commited, is the relief of disabilities still in effect?

Re: violation of probation and statue of limitation
Generally if you are off probation the probation department does not have jurisdiction to bring a violation against you. I've handled many cases for major violations that were dismissed because of this fact.
