Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York

So I was visiting my old college, and went out drinking for the night. Me and a close friend of mine were playing outside the bar which i used to work at, no punching, just a shoving match. A cop cars pulls up two officers jump out, and me and my friend begin to explain were friends and just playing. They decide to cuff us and we both end up get tickets for public fighting. I have no previous record of any kind. What is my best course of action? I do believe this is only a infraction, but I could be wrong. Would this show up on my record?

If you were not fingerprinted and the case is dismissed in court, nothing will show up.

Even if you were not fingerprinted, if you received a desk appearance ticket, if the matter is not dismissed or you receive an ACOD which is a type of dismissal you will have a type of record. Not one that can be seen by a potential employer but one that can be seen by law enforcement or government. Best course of action is to get an attorney.
