Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
wanted for questioning?
I live in Bronx. I had a sex with a female who lives in Roselle, New Jersey which possibly led to pregnancy. I didn't want this and met with her to discuss abortion. She hated the idea and became very angry. Previously, we had a dispute over money. She was selling marijuana, or was supposed to be, but actually did not. She didn't want to return the money or product and threatened to send police to my house if I did not have sex with her. I complied. She is possibly related to a NYC police officer. I found out that she claimed I robbed her and threatened to murder her. This is not true. Several detectives with guns pointed and a yellow slip of paper came to my own and my extended family's house at least three times claiming to have me for robbery and that I threatened to murder a girl. Two weeks later, several uniformed police officers came to my extended family's house and said there was no warrant for me and that I was only wanted to clear up some accusations. The main detective is calling my girlfriend over and over demanding to know where I am. I learned of all these things while out of town. I'm still out of town and it's been almost two months. All of that just to question me? I don't think so. Do you?

They ABSOLUTELY want to arrest you, If they have a warrant for your arrest this is what they are seeking, no question about it. The path you should take if you would like to clear this up is to hire an attorney and then turn yourself in, the act of turning yourself in will affect how you are viewed as far as bail and furthermore the outcome of the case, and an attorney will be able to atraighten the matter out for you.

The police probably want to interrogate you and get you to confess to those charges. You should have your lawyer contact the police and offer to surrender you --- with the attorney present --- and on the condition you NOT be asked any questions about the charges. You should do it this way, rather than end up getting arrested when you least expect it.
