Re: warrants
The first step is to retain a competent criminal defense attorney. Then discuss the nature of the warrant and the underlying charges. The attorney will arrange for a surrender and the case will be adjudicated or plea-bargained. You may contact my office for a free phone consultation.
Re: warrants
The only way to get rid of a warrant is to return to the courthouse where the warrant was issued or in the case of an arrest warrant to contact the assigned detective/warrant squad. It is highly recommended that anyone surrendering on a warrant do so with the assistance of an attorney to make sure all of their rights are protected. There is always the possibility that a judge will have the person incarcerated as a flight risk and therefore its best to have an attorney present to explain the situation to the Court. Please feel free to contact my office if you require any additional information.
Re: warrants
You get rid of the warrant by making arrangements (call ahead, or have your lawyer call ahead) with the police precinct that holds the warrant. You will first need to surrender yourself at the precinct. Then, you can fight the warrant and charges.
