Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
Have a weird question. Some friends of mine saw my name in the paper a few days ago and it said something about me owing fines and restitution. I don't know what its about, have never been contacted or been to court for anything. So how can I have fines and restitution set with no court date? Im confused. Thanks.

If correct, this is definitely something you should explore further. Unpaid fines can act as an impediment to employment and can lead to collections issues, credit report damage, or even a warrant for your arrest.
Good luck!
