How much will a lawyer cost if I choose to get one?

I am not exactly sure that I need to get a lawyer and considering my financial situation I really should be appointed one by the court but have no been for some reason. There have been errors on my paper work and only have a marijuana charge, I really do not think I need a lawyer but am I correct?
