Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
Hi I work for a messenger company I made a delivery to a residence yesterday. I knocked on the door no answer but I knew she was there because the footman called her to let her know I was coming up. So I opened the door and said hello a few times and she answered I steped in and gave her her package she signed and I left. Today my boss tells me her wallet is missing and she says it was me and wants it back or she pressing charges. I said I don't have any wallet because I didnt take it. She didn't see me take it and I'm not on camera taking it she assumes it was me because I steped in the house which I shouldn't have done in the first place. Can I get arrested for this because she missplaced it and now says it was me? Please help me I really need to know!

If the police think they have evidence against you, they can arrest you. It does not sound, from your account, that there is any evidence. If you do get charged, you need to obtain an attorney as soon as possible.
